Stitchery 2023 - The Fettled Finishes

A verrrrrrry Big Fankoo to Archie Wonder Dog for organising the linkup for the fettling party every month. It's a jolly good idea to have a list, be honest about what's in the cupboard and what needs/wants to be finished. I am notorious for starting a project then get bored with it and start something new. I belong to a stitch group that regularly exhibits work so fings NEED to be finished by certain dates, then there the distractions such as Mousies and Luna Lapin's chums... Then suggestion from friends 'Why don't we do....'. I found the fettling list very helpful this year as so much more seemed to get added and I needed to sort out the priorities. There are still 18 projects from the original list partly done, old ones promising to get started and things that are recurring every year. By the end of January I will have sorted my new list and try to order them in some sort of priority that I want to finish.

So where is I in terms of completing fings from THE 2023 LIST... January started quite well with lots of starts and progress until March. But THE LIST seemed to get longer rather than shorter, and I got poorly again and then it was Mr Hubbykins big birthday in June. I decided I had to give up some things because I just couldn't see any hope of getting started let alone finish them. I tried numbering fings, but that still didn't seem to help. The Rhino and the Circles project just seemed to be going on and on and on. Thank goodness for gentle prods from MA, I managed to get started again and with some other things that had to be marked URGENT. October, November, & December saw a real burst of fettling those finishes. In total I finished 20 projects. I finks this is pretty awesome as some of them had lots of smaller parts to them. However, we noticed that Archie the Wonder Dog uses a fettling points score, where there are several parts to a project, so I have adopted that very clever idea, which gives me a total fettling score of 92. The gallery below has pictures of all the things I finished this year.
